hello fellows, interested in undergoing full A220 (BD 500) type rating course. Currently holding B737 rating. I understand there are two best option in Europe, Lufthansa Flight Training in Germany and Air Baltic Academy in Latvia. Please, share your experience with later employment options on large European carriers when completing these schools. Most importantly, what are the anticipated costs? Waste of money. There are what? 4 Airlines in EU operating the A220. 1 of them is Swiss.
The other is AirBaltic. Just apply there and see if they hire you, you will GET the TR, bonded, but you dont have to pay it out of your Pocket yourself.
Otherwise, you have to re assess if flying is something for you to continue. Not to be disrespectful, but to even consider paying for a useless TR is absolute madness.
The market is relatively good. Plenty of jobs. Also for not so experienced pilots.
