Was doing a bit of digging around earlier to see what further info (if any) is currently available re. the progress of the terminal transformation project, and came across
this prospectus from MAG. It confirms much of what is already known in terms of the terminal extension (interestingly, the decommissioning of the TTS is planned to be brought forward to next year). However, what is interesting, and puzzling at the same time, is that the original arrivals building proposal (which seemingly the terminal extension project is replacing) will in fact still be going ahead as part of 'phase 2' of the transformation at STN (see notes on page 68). It is puzzling since I thought arrivals and immigration is planned to be relocated to the lower level once the terminal extension project is completed, so what is the purpose of MAG still thinking of wanting a dedicated arrivals building? Surely money could be better spent on a future satellite 4, revamping of satellites 2-3 and other existing areas?
