There should be AMC and GM on the required tasks to gain an A Cat licence, and as it is not as comprehensive as B1 or B2 and only is valid for a line mechanic certification role, should be aimed mostly at tasks from the line environment. CAA only alas if UK, although I have heard that Ryanair have forced the IAA to allow UK CAA licence holders to gain IAA tickets if they pass certain EASA modules like Module 9 and 10. Some of us here have actually done the whole EASA system from start to finish post 2006 and with the huge 2013 changes on first type OJT.
