They want certain educational qualifications.
Now this is interesting. Not doubt the RAF are looking for the best of the best. Well they will get the best of the best, from candidates who fit the above criteria all well and good.
What about individuals who possess skills that they are BORN with. Skills you dont learn in a classroom. They are not even looked at. Wont get a look in, will they.
At a time of impeding conflict, does it not make sense to pick and train the best candidates for the job? REGARDLESS, of colour, sex, sexual orientation, educational qualifications or class.
Would it not be more sensible, to spend a little extra money looking for exceptional talent, from all comers? Then educate them if you must.
Goodness gracious me. You spend a lot of money acquiring the best aircraft. Why not spend a bit of money, selecting people to operate them from ALL COMERS?
I have put this question to lots of "professionals" over the decades. I have never had a coherent response. When I got a response, that is.
if academic qualifications are so important, why not specify a Doctorate and be done with it?

P.S. Not sure which this Airforce this criteria belongs too. The best of the best, with a Uni degree. War winner that.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗹𝘆 𝗮 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗷𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁?
To fly a fighter jet as an Air Force fighter pilot, you need to meet several requirements, such as:
Education: You need to have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. The degree can be in any field, but some majors, such as engineering, physics, or mathematics, may give you an edge. You also need to have a good academic record, with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and a minimum score of 25 on the Air Force Officer Qualifying Test (AFOQT).
It's a young persons job, right? Well, while they are at University for so many years, filling theirs heads with useless information, they could or should be learning the job. Flying.
Start them young!
