I think now it will be an overall assessment of the application plus the sim. The sim will most likely hold much of the conversation at this stage as they’ve probably already discussed assessment centre at length to get the final 50. Of course they will look at the assessment scores too and I suspect they will have them scores in numerical order to give a current ranking. (that’s certainly how we do it in my current job)
They know the final 50 are worthy of a place on the scheme so I think they will look at how we responded to the simulator, how we learn, seek to improve, etc. More than anything I think it’s how we took to the session and our attitude to it too, seeing whether we are the type of people they want to teach as a cadet (and if we can fly a 737 straight and level to start with!)
If they think you aren’t the type of person they can teach over 18 months or not the fit they are looking for ( we look for overly confident or cocky individuals when assessing as that can lead to a clash with instructors and poison the learning environment) then I suspect you will be crossed off.
But who knows at this stage! I personally think it’s best to not speculate how they do it and just have beer and wait. Chances are they’ve already decided and are waiting on contracts to be finalised. At the end of the day just being in the final 50 deserves a pat on the back… and you got to fly a 737 with a TUI captain while you were at it!

No mention that the overall outcome will be based on the weighted average of both the assessment day and simulator assessment. What do you guys think?
