Air Transat is the only other long haul player of note in market that is loyal to GLA, indeed dropped it's weekly EDI-YYZ flight a while back. Rather surprised they haven't revisited that decision, I know Air Canada are at EDI but they used to compete alongside Mapleflot at both PIK and GLA.
No idea how I managed to forget that. I expect GLA to hang onto that with no competition and it's a lowish frequency route serving a big West of Scotland diaspora. I can see a West Coast US service or flights to likes of MSP/DFW/DEN/IAH to EDI before GLA even gets a summer seasonal to NYC again.
