You are 100% correct on both points. I am indeed with an agency and you should always take anything you read on the interweb with a grain of salt. I only comment on some items (very rarely) on PPRUNE if I see an obvious misunderstanding. I understand that by doing so I open myself up to to pilots who would like to take a shot at me. It's OK. I have thick skin and I know that pilots may have some pretty bad experiences with airlines or agencies that make them highly skeptical. No argument there. However, feel free to ask openly any question you have. I'm open to answer truthfully. Others may have the same question and it might help them decide.
