One hundred road closures will be in place in
Luton as it hosts
BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend music festival.
More than 100,000 fans are expected to attend the event in Stockwood Park, which runs from May 24 to 26.
I can’t help but think this is going to be bad news for passengers, as feeder routes into the town are going to be closed. While passengers would be too sensible to ever venture into Luton’s ghastly ghettos, the locals could well block the A505 as they try to avoid the closures together with festive goers heading for the big bash.
Worth remembering the venue is by the side of the M1 link road to the airport.
