Is it included in groundschool? No.

Should it be? Yes I guess, it’s important for the industry. Exams etc are more focussed on the actual safe flying of the aircraft (at least some of it, when you’re not learning how to read maps to the level of an 18th century cartographer)

Saving fuel and CO2 is important but it’s meaningless to the safe operation of the aircraft. Same way customer service is huge to an airline but meaningless to safety, so it’s not touched on.
