Its D-day for the mayor on election day Thursday. Very few are bothered to go and vote by the sound of it.
In four of the five Councils it is just Mayor & PCC that are being balloted.
One Council has third of the Council Chamber up for election as well.
So I can see a lower turnout than the last election in 2021, just because of the lack of other elections taking place. I'd be very surprised if 169k votes are cast in the Mayoral election like there was in 2021 when Houchen got 122k of the vote.
