According to military analyst Colby Badwar , from The Insider publication, there are currently 1,281 ATACMS missiles in the US stockpile, which are "expired" (Photo 1) - if we talk more specifically about the options:
1)M39 Block I (165 km, cluster warhead - 950 BE) - 157 units;
2) M39 Block IA (300 km, cluster warhead - 250 BE) - 532 units;
3) M39 Block 2/2A (140km/220km, cluster warhead - smart 13/6 BE) - 75 units;
4) M48/M57+M57E1 (300/300/310km, fragmentation warhead) - 517;
Also, some publics in Telegram spread information that it seems that ATACMS production has been restored, but this is not quite the case (photo 2).
During the 20/21 fiscal year, the US Ministry of Defense signed a contract for the supply of about 500 new missiles of the M57 variant, or converted M57E1 from decommissioned M39s, during the 23-24 year.
Ps That is, an arsenal of 1,281 ATACMS missiles has been opened for Ukraine.
The Pentagon, in turn, can transfer them according to the scheme of replenishing its own reserves (that is, it can give X-quantity of M39 Block I, and buy newer options, such as PrSm - at 500 km)
