I think the most worrisome aspect of a defeated Russia is that it's hard to come up with a scenario where Putin remains in power after such a defeat - and even harder to come up with a scenario where he remains alive after his fall from power.
It can be pretty frightening to contemplate what Putin might do when faced with that outcome.
