Ukrainian HUR reveals additional details of the Tu-22M strategic bomber takedown that occurred over Russia last night.
Russian sources quickly attempted to claim that the plane fell due to technical issues but this was rebuked by HUR.

Ukraine's GUR Military Intelligence:
"Russian Tu-22M was shot down at a distance of about 300 kilometers from Ukraine, the bomber was able to fly to the Stavropol region, where it went down.”
"One of the Tu-22M3 long-range bombers, which was making a missile attack against Ukraine on the night of April 19, was shot down as a result of a special operation of the Main Intelligence Directorate in cooperation with the Air Force.”
“The enemy Tu-22M aircraft was shot down at a distance of about 300 kilometers from Ukraine by the same means that had earlier hit the Russian A-50 long-range radar detection and control aircraft.”
“As a result of the hit, the bomber was able to fly to the Stavropol area, where it fell and crashed.”
“Note that this is the first successful destruction of a strategic bomber in the air during a combat sortie during Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.”
