In '93 40 Block 50 CJs/DJs were ordered some of which equip a dedicated SEAD squadron - F110-GE-129 engine
In 2000 after a financial crisis and aborted attempt to acquire F-15s, 60 Block 52+s with conformable tanks were ordered, the purchase was probably price driven - F100-PW-229 engine (The 52 plus has a improved F100)
In 2005 after cancelling an order for Typhoon, 30 Block 52+ Advs were ordered, F100-PW-229 engines and APG-68(V)9 radars
As mention in the OP a conversion programme is going on with it having received >=10 72Vs of 84 conversions from 52s ordered.
