How such a facility is funded is key to whether this project goes ahead. My understanding is that the Irish stations had a certain funding agreement that has not necessarily been made available to UK stations who have looked into this.
And don't just assume that airlines want to use the facility, just because it's there. There may be costs and other operational impacts that they might not wish to accept.
