I wanted to be a pilot, during 2011-2012 I did my studies and training, then things went really sidesways and I gave up. Many bad things happened, I got into huge debt and commited embezzlement. 4 months jail time but suspended sentence for 18 months. Did nothing bad since, never went to jail, criminal record is clean now, paid for everything. It was 9 years ago. The only thing which remains from the past is still a bit of debt. But it is not "normal debt". It is something like distraint. When I work somewhere, the company gets letter from authority and they take huge part of my salary to pay for the debt. To that, I officially live at town hall. Of course, I don't but my ID and all official documents say so.
I have opportunity to get my licence and everything again. But I'm really worried about background check. My criminal record is ok but then there is the other thing. According to our authority and law. I have to be
To obtain a background check, the applicant must meet the good repute requirement and credibility requirement.
Good repute means criminal record.
b) a credible person for the purposes of the background check is deemed a natural person whose unescorted entry to the security-restricted area is not connected with a specific risk. A specific risk is a reasonable suspicion that the hitherto conduct of the natural person, his/her business or social contacts give strong indication that he/she could expose civil aviation to the risk of an act of unlawful interference. Credibility is certified by a binding opinion of the Police of the Czech Republic, by which the CAA is bound.
Maybe I'm overthinking that but I'm willing take my chances with CVs and interviews and everything but I'm really worried about this part of background check. I would like to find a job in EU but I really don't know how much they will think I'm evil or terrorist. Does anyone have insight how much the information spread across EU countries and how much do they care about this?
