- where are the villas in relation to the rest of Dubai?
- where are the nearest shops?
- can you live being surrounded by people / pilots who work at Emirates ( in essence at home you never leave work / emirates?)
- school on doorstep sounds ideal but it’s really an EK school because the majority of kids there are all from EK, is that ideal?
These are just a couple of issues, there are many others. Some people love being enclosed by ek in almost every part of their lives but others hate it and feel confined .

Yes, this is spot on. The education at KCD itself is pretty good, at least FS1 to Year 3. Now, if you need to "de-attach" from work when at home, opt out. Financially much better as well as EK gives a live out allowance.
The family will spend most of the time in Dubai. You will be working. Might be better for them to be around others who are in the same situation.
