Cheers Simon. We have been going that way to YVR, works well, this time though BA are much cheaper premium out of LGW than Air Canada out of DUB plus I have some companion vouchers to use! Don't want to go off thread, I would use Eastern much more but firmly believe they have the pricing strategy slightly wrong. Basic fare seems to be £39.99 with no baggage (could that be £10 more!) then £79.99 with 15kgs and changeable at a fee. It then jumps to £199 with lounge and 23kgs of bags. I believe most travelling long haul would have 23kgs bags, so I would have to pay excess baggage at £60 return to get 16kgs of baggage allowance for two of us.
If Eastern increased the baggage allowance to 23 kgs on the £79.99 fare I would use them and I KNOW I am not alone in this thinking. If anyone from Eastern commercial reads this think about it please!!!
