By 1992 some of the major holiday airlines had already gone from the UK market:
BIA, Air Europe, Novair International, and Dan Air.
Cardiff based Inter European Airways (IEA) was to merge at the end of 1993 with Airtours International (AIH).

Both Britannia Airways (BY) and Air 2000 (AMM/DP) were now the two main UK major charter airlines, along with Monarch Airlines (OM/MON), and Caledonian Airways 1988 (CKT) who were owned by BA until 1995.
In 1998 Air 2000 would buy Leisure International Airways (ULE) who were first known as Air UK Leisure (UKL)
British Midland Airways (BD) had a large summer charter series, and also flew several dedicated aircraft on the behalf of Air 2000 (with Air 2000 stickers or titles).

In the 1990's and early 2000's some small holiday charter airlines were formed:
Ambassador (AMY) Airworld (AWD) Air Leisure (ALT) Sabre Airways (SBE) Flying Colours Airlines (FCL) Air Scandic (SCY) Peach Air (KGC) TEA UK (TUK) Virgin Sun Airlines (V2) Sunjet Airlines (SUJ) Astraeus Airlines (AEU) and Flyjet (FJE)

In 1999 Thomas Cook Travel Group would take over Caledonian, Peach Air, Flying Colours and merged them all with their own Airworld in 2000 to become JMC Air (JMC)
In 2001 Sabre Airways became Excel Airways (XLA) and Virgin Sun was sold to Air 2000.
In 2002 Airtours International Airways became MyTravel Airways (MYT)
In 2003 Thomas Cook rebranded JMC Air as Thomas Cook Airlines (TCX)
In 2004 Air 2000 became First Choice Airways (FCA) and Britannia Airways was rebranded as Thomsonfly.
In 2008 First Choice Airways was fully merged with Thomsonfly to become Thomson Airways (TOM)
In 2008 MyTravel Airways was fully merged with Thomas Cook Airlines.

Soon thereafter would only be TOM, TCX and MON.

Now we are left with just TOM (Renamed as TUI Airways)
