Qantas have relied on bought entities as threats in EBA’s, they bought Impulse, they bought Network, they bought NJS, they attempted to buy Alliance. There is nothing left, that threat is gone. A greenfield entity would take too long to establish. They tried the greenfield threat with long haul as they had years to get it going before the jets arrived.

Why have QF pulled agreed terms and sought intractable bargaining from fair wok? Because they have nothing else, no intimidatory threats left, nothing.
