Had they closed the channel? Or is someone (ie the media outlets) interpreting the LNTM on the harbourmasters website as something that actually happened? Didn't look very closed to me at the time. Might even have been waiting for something or someone to arrive before sailing, but transport delays precluded that.
You're still using supposition, not evidence, but if it makes you feel happier, she looked perfectly happy sailing past the window a few minutes ago.
