I am not convinced about the convex/concave shape of the stops. Whilst it does look a bit like that in the photo you posted, it might just be the reflection that makes it look that way. In this photo, the contact surface looks flat. There is no distortion in the reflection that you might expect if the surface is not flat (other than at the very edges).
