I don't say you're right or wrong. I know many expats never left Tung Chung or Century Link in 10 years. Discovery bay is an isolated, exclusive area for expats and therefore high prices. If you choose to live more locally you can find great places in other areas well connected. In the end is your personal choice, some like the sand, some like the snow, and some like humidity and heat.
