Unfortunately Putin doesn't care about the residents of Belgorod etc. He'll pretend he does, but he doesn't.
In Russia, this will be usefully spun as "Nazi terrorism". At best, it's a little bit of "feel better" for the Ukranians and the West, but other than that - useless. He has absolute control over Russian perceptions via the Kremlin press, anti-dissent laws and control of social media.
Also, we give him access to project his fake narratives and distortion into our minds via Telegram, X, and our free press. We can't do the same to the Russians. He's closed the door, it's one-way only.
I'm hoping that those who stand on the Ukranian side have some half-decent "assymetric" plans up their sleeve and possibly some long-range weaponry.
