Egg Wars not over in russia Rosstat recorded a new jump in egg prices contrary to Putin's promises

At December 25, chicken eggs in the country rose in price by another 3.95%, Rosstat reported on Wednesday. Since the beginning of December, the increase in egg prices has reached 16.4%, and since the beginning of the year - 59%.

As a result, eggs continue to lead the top of the most expensive food products. Only tomatoes showed comparable growth of 52%. Bananas come third with 46.5%. Cabbage (by 29%), chicken meat (by 27.7%), apples (by 20.7%), lamb (by 17.6%), cucumbers (by 14.9%), carrots (by 13.3%), pork (by 12.9%), beets (by 12.5%) and sugar (by 11.5%) also rose at a double-digit rate.

As of December 25, Rosstat estimated the overall food inflation at 8.16%, and the increase in prices for vegetables and fruits at 28.19%.+
