The jobs to be created are basically terminal, apron and car parking jobs, all of which are in the main rock bottom payers. As for Robin Porter, he failed to mention that there is such a thing as in-work poverty and that the airport is the major source of in-work poverty in the town. The airport and the Council need to keep the poverty struck poor so the airport remains competitive.

Having looked at the list it is apparent to me there are multiple opportunities for anyone seeking employment. With regards to wages, the Government states the median weekly wage in the U.K. to be £682 gross or £35,464 a year. Based on your assumption you appear to be concerned no one can live on a salary of £25,000. Whilst I can see your point of view you may have forgotten not everyone lives alone. In my household there are two of us. We are mortgage free and both pay higher taxes on our earnings. I might one day want to change career and be happy to be a cleaner on £10 an hour. But imagine a New Terminal Building with hundreds if not thousands of new jobs for locals. Going back to the jobs listed at the airport some vacancies pay far higher salaries than the median!
