The NZ pilot group has been steadily improving the contract over the years, however it has been really difficult to deal with the Qantas group IR beast. Every time we try and improve the company uses Aussie pilots to crew the flights. It is not just 2 pilots. There have been hundreds of pilots since Jetstar nz started, working the system to their advantage and to hell with the NZ pilot group. It’s fine for Aussies to take the jobs of any other pilot group but no one can ever set a foot near their jobs.
There's hasn't been hundreds of pilots, there's been a handful at best, and the issue isn't Australian pilots that are the issue it's the union that seems to have no substance.
There's also IR laws that inhibit NZ pilots working in Australia, otherwise the company would be pushing very hard for the NZ guys to come over and fill the space.
