Exactly my experience, ticking the South African and Captain box, hence my curiosity about the 'easy' access to the EU - and I agree with what I think you're saying, one company certainly does not make it 'easy' - in fact, my experience of my colleagues going to Ryanair was that without the right to work in the EU, they were limited to Irish (not even sure about that now!) or UK bases, and could not work in EU bases. That may be different now, I don't know.
