We know the level of opprobrium that drew from various quarters, and rightly so. The outcome was, in part, an extension of the expiry period.

Virgin holds $420.2 million of flight credits (about 9 percent of revenue) that are currently due to expire by 31 December 2023. The fair chunk of that is money punters has paid for fares back in early 2020. No extension announced, and ... (crickets). Where are the accusations that Bain are in the process of stealing nearly half a billion from Australian travellers?

When Madam Sports Rorts and her happy band of inquisitors had Jayne in for a chat, the most directed questioning seemed to be about what she knew about Jetstar.
Because those Senators aren’t really interested in fairness or integrity. It’s about jumping on a current issue and using it as a platform to attack their opponents. You’ve got ‘proud Aussie patriot’ MPs extolling the virtues of Qatar.

I’m still waiting on why former National MP John Sharpe’s company was given millions by his political allies in power at the time to maintain regional services, then straight away starts up a 737 operation and eventually reduces regional services, blaming QF for ‘poaching’. Or why CASA buried the audit report on the Rex owned Pel Air operation after the Norfolk Ditching, I don’t think we ever got an answer on that one.
