If my own car was involved I would want to make that decision myself, thank you very much. My expectation of leaving it to the airport owner is they will go for the solution that costs them the least, regardless of how I am inconvenienced or left grossly out of pocket.
I believe some insurance companies have already started paying out, so if you were in that position you would need to move fast. I think most will just take then money and purchase something else but depends what your policy is and says.
