If the average car was valued at say only £10,000 that is £14m but I suspect it is twice that figure. The car park cost £20m to build but let’s say £26m to demolish and rebuild. Then there is lost revenue from the drop off zone and car park. I am guessing the final bill will be at least £45m to £60m and probably more. Now how much was that sprinkler system?
One for the airport insurance companies to sort out, what updated policies may demand might be bigger ongoing cost.
