I just received the sad news that Tony Tubbenhauer, RAAF, about whom I wrote to mark his hundredth birthday in my post, above, died peacefully in Queensland on 29 September 2023 at the very respectable age of 102.
Tony flew Blenheims and Baltimores in North Africa and the Middle East from 1942 to 1943, and Liberators when back in Australia after the war, in addition to a multitude of other types.
I salute you, Tony, and say thanks for what you did for us all those years ago, and thanks for your friendship in more recent years.
