I thought that the idea was that with the new systems and sensor suite they would not need to do anywhere near the amount of low level stuff that Nimrod used to do? Undoubtably a rougher time than a commercial version but perhaps many fewer cycles when compared to an Easyjet or Ryanair machine doing eight plus sectors a day?
