Lots of reasons to hate EK but wages ain't one of them. It's easy to try make the numbers look bad by discarding the items that don't matter to you. Arguably, it is a short sighted approach and hardly objective. That said, at the end of the day, EK isn't a good fit for everyone and if there are doubts it is probably better to stay put.
Isn't it that you've to putchase a property to get the housing allowance now? I'm wary of purchasing a place in Dubai, it seems to be booming now but what happens when the bubble bursts? I'd be in very unchartered territories .. plus you'd have to save for the deposit etc, perhaps im wrong but years ago I understood you could take the allowance and rent a place of your own, pocketing any differences so it was like more to your salary
