Really? I was under the impression that the 2 Nimrod prototypes were converted from unfinished Comet 4 airframes, but that the production MR1s were all new build airframes, and the MR2s and R1s were converted from MR1s.
I think you are generally correct, although the 3 original R1 were never MR1.
