As was pointed out, the BBC version's far less hysterical than first article, which reeks of the tabloid press - detention centres "packed with hardened criminals", etc. I'd disregard talk of 6 months' bird since trial's been set for Feb 6.
Anyway, let's not allow the facts to get in the way of a good story - and another excuse for American-bashing.
Wily Coyote, don't believe the hype. Quite frankly, US authorities are as snotty as ever, but if you're patient and co-operative, you'll have no problems.
