I don't think you'll find yourself in a wide body QF mainline window seat much inside 10 years (if even that). ME or anywhere else sure, but for some there is more to life than thier fleet or rank at work.
For NZ and QF the short haul fleets offer a near instant pathway to three stripes if thats important.
I agree with you about the quality of life 100%. I'm at QF link now and had the offer of employment from my home airline flying the koru props but the progression and time taken to mainline is what put me off. However people have different views.
