Exactly and stopping expansion at Luton just shifts things somewhere else, it solves nothing other than deterring prosperity locally. Say Easyjet, TUI UK & Wizzair UK move out, along with their jobs it only reduces Luton prosperity. At the end of the day we all want to be green, but no-one wants a wind farm in their back yard and who can economically store power for when you want it?
Hydrogen Fuel is still a pipe dream. SAF Fuel is the way forward currently but is still expensive, perhaps it should have a negative tax to encourage more use, but that would be at a National level as the airport could only reduce landing fees as an insensitive.
Like it or not aviation is an expanding business and blaming LRT is just a personal attack on the way the Council has approached things which is fair enough, kick and shout about it to the local papers to get these unaccountable clowns out but don't make the core airport business suffer especially using a green card when it is convenient for objectives. That is a much wider planet debate.
What the man in the street wants is to get energy at an affordable price and enjoy a get away every so often.
