There is the question of who is actually pulling the strings, the councillors or the unelected officials operating in the shadows. There is a whole bunch of them including the CEO and the director in charge of finance. He always gives speeches why he is right and the auditors are wrong regarding the airport. It would have been really interesting to hear him last night facing the auditors but the microphones were silenced that avoided public scrutiny and maybe allowing him to keep his job.

As pointed out before, the airport directors are just members of the public who became councillors with no abilities to bring to the table. Maybe that is why they are airport directors, as they have limited intellect and are easily hoodwinked into agreeing to anything put before them. The directors also meet in secret and publish no minutes. If a director did disagree with any policy they are not allowed to say so in public according to the Lib Dem’s who all resigned a few years ago.

Then there is then the chairwoman of LRT, the airport owning company. She was moved to a safe seat at the recent local elections to avoid being kicked off the Council by the voters, as her constituency was under the flight path. In her new safe seat she did not receive a single vote so has no public mandate to serve as a councillor, as no one stood against her.
