A second terminal and infrastructure is now costed at £3bn that will add just 10.5 million passengers. It won’t happen as no one in their right mind would spend that sort of money on a project that could be cut back by climate change legislation in the future. The best that fans can look forward to is a slightly extended existing terminal but that is it so expect the airports ranking to drop through the floor again as it gains back its title of Britain’s worst airport.
