Starting from 2005 Burny was under repair at the Dalzavod plant in Vladivostok, and finally decommissioned in 2019.
No great money to be skimmed off in building a new ship, but since the fall of the USSR the cash has instead been directed into “repair” of the old fleet, with little work done and the ships rotting away in dock whilst the majority of the funds were siphoned off down the chain. Same with the sub fleet - including the decommissioned nukes….
