For Luton 18m obviously is not enough for Joe Public otherwise they wouldn't keep coming.
Travel is price sensitive so increasing prices, either through inflation or taxation, kerbs demand but there is a lag before demand is hit. I would think next year Luton will be handling less passengers when those fix rate mortgage deals gradually come to an end.

Glad we agree on electric cars, but is doing nothing really the solution? LRT planning application commits to a zero neutral airport by 2040 but refuses to put any limits on green house gases caused by aircraft using Luton and there lies the issue, as they know pollution will massively increase under their proposals and they really don’t care.
They should care, as the signs are already there. For example, the Spanish drought is affecting the price of tomatoes, olive oil and a host of other foods.
