Would you have objected if T2 was never brought up and Gulfstream were allowed to build their Farnborough facilities on such land along with other well paid jobs of an expanded TUI & Techik engineering bases at Luton? Perhaps Marshalls could have been offered facilities rather than going to Cranfield?
