So a few educated Luton taxpayers will be asking why does the airport even need to grow?
The claim is that it creates jobs except they can’t fill the vacancies they have, as people don’t want to work there on shift patterns that destroy home life including Christmas Day.
The other claim is that LRT gives millions away despite the loses to charities and good causes. What they don’t mention is that the money now comes from the Council and not income earned from the airport, as the company can claim tax relief on donations.
The sad truth is that LRT would be a successful profitable company bringing financial benefits to the town if they had not been motivated by greed and the total contempt of people that will be disturbed by their plans. Now despite passenger figures more than doubling and LRT receiving concession income when they got nothing for 2020/21 their 12 month audited debts have now more than doubled from £109.8m to over £232m.
If anyone thinks Luton Rising Temperature is going to make a profit next year then keep on dreaming.
