The Russian's are in a situation where they have effectively lost the War.

From an assumed weekend jolly through the countryside by their armored formations with the trailing support units taking up residence they have found themselves in pretty much a stalemate with the Ukraine forces.

At this point they are faced with the anticipated Spring Counter Attack by Ukraine forces.

All of which forces them to consider extreme measures to place them in the best position possible.

The destruction of the Dam makes very good military sense and collateral benefits outweigh any concerns of condemnation.

The electrical output of the Dam is gone and not to be replaced until the Dam is rebuilt.

The area below the Dam is flooded and shall become an unpopulated area that is filled with wet muddy ground.

The agriculture use of the land has been destroyed for this year.

Military use of the flooded area makes it unusable by the Ukraine Forces which requires. them to use other areas for any effective counter attack (at least in theory).

As to all the hand wringing about damage to the environment, wildlife, etc.....the Russians do not care one bit.

As to the loss of life and property by the people of Ukraine....agains the Russians do not care at all about that.

A couple of questions are begged......what actual effect did the Dam destruction have on Ukraine Plans and ability to use the flooded ground and does the area no longer flooded above the Dam provide a new route of attack?

The other question is what tactical choices exist now for the both areas....above and below the Dam?

What effect upon the civilian population has the destruction of the Dam going to have?

As to the UN....what interest has it had over the Ukraine War considering the Russian presence on the UN Security Committee and the Veto Power they have by rights of their seat on the Committee?

This might an opportunity to take a realistic view of the situation and perhaps be able to determine the real value of the Russians latest crime against Humanity in their conduct of this aggressive war.....all of which violates International Accords held so precious by the UN.

With people like Putin and his close supporters holding control of nuclear weapons (Lots of them) that makes dealing with them a very difficult thing and much more dangerous than the Allies dealing with the Axis powers during WWII.
