There has been a trend in the direction of .pdf files for two reasons:
[list=1][*]A .pdf will look and print the same on just about any system.
[*]A .pdf will not contain viruses.[/list=1]

You see more and more companies using .pdf over .doc for correspondence.

Now, if you want to link a .pdf version of your resume in a webpage, setup your Resume in .html for your website to display and then put a link to the .pdf with something like:

click here for print friendly version
When anyone goes to print your Resume, it opens the .pdf. (If they click on the link.)

P.S. I could not hurt to keep both a .pdf and a .doc version on your Resume Floppy.
