If you check the QRH for "auto fail" it says after the approach checklist:
At Pattern Altitude:
Outflow VALVE switch . . . . . . . Move to OPEN until
the outflow VALVE
indication shows fully open
to depressurize the airplane
So if you skip this step, you will land pressurised.
