These days yes, 10 yrs ago that was not the case. Ironic since EK drivers have a much more demanding work environment and brutal rosters. But yup my take home pay as a narrowbody FO is about twice as much than at EK, but that’s besides the point I was making, I work half as much, usually 12-13 workdays a month, I can drop/swap unfettered, I can call fatigued without consequences, I can screw something up and not have to worry about ELOM/QAR as everything is de identified. EK folks deserve much more.
This is not to say EK isn’t a good place to go depending on your nationality, I’m talking specifically to the US legacy guy that is applying to EK!
So US now is light years ahead of any other place. Might consider applying for that EB visa.
I don’t know how u guys feel about foreigners joining with an EB visa; I have a couple friends who already got an approval, and a couple more working on it.
