Unlike other countries airlines who have specific contracts or even specific fleets for expats separate to locals, in the US as long as you maintain your working rights you’ll be made redundant in order of reverse seniority (juniority) if it comes to that.

I suppose when your E3 visa is due for renewal the US airline could just not renew it though, but outside that scenario you’re a lot safer than you would be as an expat in Asia for example.
