More Gmail woe
Rather than hijack the thread about gmail/spf and so on, I have a similar issue.
My wife complained about her emails being bounced by a Gmail recipient and she also had an email from her domain provider, IONOS, that she needed to up the security on her email software.
She is/was using Outlook 2010. When I tried to up the encryption to TLS it didn't work with complaints about Office 2010 not supporting whatever it was I was trying to do.
OK, I had a copy of Office 2016 so I thought I would install that.
Not so fast.
In my defence she doesn't like any changes so she was still on Windows 7 and Office 2016 it seems wasn't having any of that.
So I installed Windows 10 then Office 2016. Had to use the 64bit version as otherwise would have had to uninstall Office 2010 and I am frightened of doing that as if I loose her emails or addressbook I would be toast. Very burnt toast.
Well all was good with the applications except for Outlook, typical. Can't display folder it says where her emails should be displayed.
I tried renaming the ost file but Outlook 2010, which she still has to use, doesn't load and it makes no difference to 2016.
I have tried reinstalling Office 2016 but makes no difference.
OK nearly there.
Reckon I should uninstall 2010 and do it again but if I do that will I lose her address book ?
If I uninstall 2010, reinstall 2016 and Outlook still doesn't work and her address book has gone I'll have to find somewhere else to live.
Any suggestions/advice ? ( on curing Outlook not where I might move to).
